Here are some pics of a quick visit to Scotland and the Orkney Islands.

I recently visited a friend in the Scottish Highlands. I wasn’t planning on posting a blog about it, but it was so stunning I thought I would add some pics to pass the time during the Coronavirus lock-down.

Known for it’s prehistoric archaeology, there is an incredible amount of well preserved sights around the Orkney Islands.

In addition to it’s ancient ruins, there is a surprising amount of easily accessible World War military sights that are still in great shape.

The Hoxa Head and Balfour Batteries are part of a series of emplacements built to protect the Scapa Flow during World Wars I and II.
